Rich is the Director of Research and a senior partner at Chartwell Consulting (USA) LLC. Founded in 1994, Chartwell acts as an independent investment consultant to a range of corporate and public retirement plans, educational endowments, and foundations. Rich is responsible for directing the firm’s efforts in strategic asset allocation, asset/liability/spending studies, and investment manager searches. He is also lead consultant to a small group of clients.
Immediately prior to joining Chartwell, Rich was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Barclays Capital, responsible for the Energy, Utilities, & Project Finance underwriting groups. In that role he also lead-managed a $4bn sector-related investment portfolio. Prior Barclays assignments included risk management and national accounts relationship management.
Rich graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in business management and finance, and pursued an MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business, majoring in international finance. He obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1989, is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts, and is a frequent speaker at various institutional investor conferences.
Spare time activities include golfing, hunting, cooking, travel, and loafing.
