Market analysts and talking heads have been warning about a retirement crisis in the US for several years. Because I work for the financial industry, I see these reports so frequently that I’ve become a little inured to them. Sometimes, a single number cuts through the mishmash of data and long-winded reports to crystallize the problem into simple, easy-to-grasp terms: that number is zero.
Specifically, one out of every four Americans have saved absolutely nothing – zero - for retirement.
